Cutting is the simplest and at the same time reliable method of reproduction of conifers. It will not take you much time, and as a result, following all the rules, you will get a strong and healthy plant for planting.

Tuyu can be grafted in the winter, spring and summer. It takes root well in all cases. The main criterion that needs to be paid attention to is whether the thuja's shoot growth has ended. If so, then you can proceed to cutting.

You need to choose an adult, healthy and strong plant. In the upper part, one should find a well-developed skeletal branch and, with a flick of the wrist, tear off from it two to three year old lignified growths located at the ends of the shoot. To be sure that the cuttings will root, you should tear them off with a small piece of bark. The length of the cutting should be from 10 to 15 cm.

Remove excess needles from the stalk at the bottom. Then, for loyalty, place the cutting overnight in a growth regulator solution. Then place the stalk in the soil mixture consisting of peat, leaf soil and sand mixed in equal parts. At the bottom do not forget to put drainage. Before planting, you can dip the roots of the cuttings in Kornevin. At the end make a small greenhouse of a plastic bag or an ordinary plastic bottle.

Water the cutting should be only when the substrate is completely dry. The emergence of new branches indicates that the plant is rooted. It is possible to replant on a constant place after 1-2 years.

Plant care is not specific: timely watering, good soil, periodic feeding and sufficient daylight hours will do their job better than any store supplements.
